½ cup chopped onion
¼ cup butter
1 (4 ounce) can mushroom pieces and stems, drained
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 (1 pound) can sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
1 (1 pound 13 ounces) can tomatoes, undrained
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Sauté onion in butter; add mushrooms; cook 5 minutes. Remove onion and mushrooms; reserve drippings. Stir flour and salt into drippings; mix sauerkraut. Add onion and mushroom mixture, tomatoes and sugar. Bring to boil over medium heat. Cover; reduce to low heat; simmer 1 hour. Serve with Parker House Polish Sausage, Parker House Special Sausage, or Parker House Hot Smoked Links.
